This server does the main interpretation of how to display the web page. This server also has a HTTPS Gateway and will be seen by an external secure Web server as the SSL client.
Layout:
- There is a single default font (Tiresias)
- HTML text is automatically enlarged (from a default 12pt to 18pt)
- Layouts are reformatted to fit within a 640 pixel width – to disable horizontal scrolling
- Unsupported technology is stripped out
Main impacts of this server are on the visual display/layout of your designs; and in maximising the speed & performance of your site (by minimising the processing requirements you are putting on this server).
SSL:
When the SSL handshaking occurs the client and server agree on the strongest encryption strength that both can use (i.e. lowest common denominator). For example, if a 56-bit certificate is installed on your web server then the SSL will use 40-bit encryption in the connection from your server to the Translation server.
