graphics
  • Avoid using full-screen graphics - they will hamper the loading time.
  • Single lines must be minimum of 3 pixels in height to avoid flicker
  • Do not use 'spacer' gifs. Use the spacer tag instead
  • No image maps can be used
  • Don't use images with long gradient colour fills - these display as coloured bands/stripes
  • Use GIFs in preference to JPEGs or PNGs; do not use 24 bit images
  • If transparent GIFs are used, they must be checked to ensure they do not cause flickering
  • All graphics/images must be judged to be clearly legible at a comfortable viewing distance (10 ft). Avoid intricate detail in your graphics
